Filtering Spam in Pegasus v4.12

Set up Pegasus to check Gatorlink mail via the Imap protocol as per instructions that will be posted here soon...

Click on the "Tools" pull down menu and then select "Mail Filtering Options" and the "CreateEdit general rule set..." option. A new window titled "Select a filtering rule set" will open.

Click the icon on the right labeled "New." A new window titled "Enter long name and file name" will open.

In the textfield labeled "Long (friendly) name for item:" type "Gatorlink Spamassassin". Leave all the other fields blank and click the "OK" button at the bottom. The "Long (friendly) name for item:" window will close, and return focus to the window titled "Select a filtering rule set."

There should now be an entry in this windows labeled "Gatorlink Spamassassin". Click the icon on the right labeled "Open". The "Gatorlink Spamassassin" window will close, and return focus to the window titled "Pegasus Mail - [Gatorlink Spamassassin]."

The active window should be the main Pegasus window titled "Pegasus Mail - [Gatorlink Spamassassin]". The content of this window are now related to filtering mail instead of reading mail. Click the icon at the top left labeled "Add rule." A new window titled "Create a filtering rule" will open.

Click on the button labeled "Expression...". A new window titled "Edit a regular expression rule" will open.

In the field labeled "If this regular expression" type the text "X-Spam-Level: [*][*][*][*][*]+", please note that there is one space between the colon (:) and the first open bracket ([). It should be typed without the quotes but otherwise exactly as it is typed here in this document and in the following screenshot.

Select the "Header's only" option in the "Occur's in the message's" section of the window. Select the "Move" option in the pull-down menu labeled "Action:" in the "Then do this:" section of the window. Now click on the "Set" button just below the "Action:" pull-down menu. A new window titled "Select a mail folder" will open.

Double-click on the folder labelled "Junk or suspicious mail." The "Select a mail folder" window will close and focus will be returned to the "Edit a regular expression rule" window.

Click the ok button at the bottom. The "Edit a regular expression" window will close and focus will be returned to the "Pegasus Mail - [Gatorlink Spamassassin]" window. There should be an entry in this window that will list the Rule type (Expression), Trigger Condition (X-Spam-Level: [*][*][*][*][*]+) and Action (Move to Junk or Suspicious).

Click the "Save" button at the top of the window and then the "Close" button. The "Pegasus Mail" windows will return to the "Folders" view. Right-click on the subfolder of "Gatorlink" named "New or unread mail INBOX." Select the "Attach folder-open filter set" option.

A new window titled "Select a filtering rule set" will open. Double-click the "Gatorlink Spamassassin" option. The window titled "Select a filtering rule set" will close.

The filter is now in place and should work as you expect it to. In order to kickstart it the first time you should select another folder and then reselect the Gatorlink Inbox.
