Service Description
Managed computers are those that are setup and maintained by Desktop Services. We handle the installation of software and hardware, provide support, and order licenses as necessary. We handle all the hardware and software troubleshooting for the managed computers. All Dell support and returns are handled by Desktop Services. The managed computer is mapped to network drives, such as a personal home directory and a share drive. The network drives are backed up every night with TSM. Therefore, documents kept on the server will be backed up every night and can easily be retrieved if needed. A Ghost image of the computer is stored on the server so that, if necessary, we can easily bring the computer back to the state it was in when we first set it up for the user. We keep the computer up-to-date with Windows Updates.
We are always happy to assist those people who have computers that we do not manage. However, due to our limited resources we are only able to provide best effort support to unmanaged computers, and managed computers receive priority.
