Outgoing Offsite Tapes

  1. From Opers email, print the OUTGOING tape list or lists from the email with today's date. The message/messages will be highlighted red and Opers should get a page on the pager. The tapes on the list should be in the ATL's I/O convenience station, or already in the outgoing side of the OSG carousel.

    If you can't locate the tapes on the out list, send email to osg-nsam-l@lists.ufl.edu to inform NSAM staff.

  2. Pull the OUTGOING tapes from the ATL's I/O convenience station.

    Make sure there are no other tapes in the station before you close the door because any tapes left in the I/O station will be reinserted when the door is closed. Put any tapes other than the backups in the tape library office.

  3. Using today's OUTGOING email list, check off the tapes that are outgoing and put the list in the OSG Offsite Backups OUTGOING folder.

  4. Put the OUTGOING tapes in the OSG Offsite Carousel (outgoing side) located in the tape library office.

  5. When the courier from Iron Mountain arrives, place the OUTGOING tapes in the tape case and give to the courier.

  6. Fill in the information for the OUTGOING log sheet, making sure that the Iron M. courier signs for the tape that are OUTGOING today.

  7. Give OUTGOING tapes to Iron Mountain.
