The Open Systems Group provides CNS Hosting Services to members of the University of Florida community. We have a number of economically priced offerings to help meet your UF project needs. These offerings fall into several general categories:
Web Site and Application Hosting offerings provide customers with the resources necessary to host your project's website. You have the option of an open-source environment with Apache on Linux, or Microsoft technologies with IIS on Windows. These services have standard pricing for a set offering of features, which includes 20 gigabytes of storage per site. Please see the details below.
Database Hosting offerings currently include the option between the open source MySQL DBMS, or the Microsoft SQL Enterprise DBMS. Both offerings include an initial 20 gigabytes of disk space for your database, with additional storage available in 20 gigabytes increments. Both environments are supported with nightly backups to help protect your data. Further data protection is provided by binary log replication in MySQL and highly-available replication in MS SQL. For standard pricing please see the tables below.
File Server Hosting allows customers to outsource the mundane day-to-day task of managing their own file-server. CNS manages our highly available file services and delegates administrative control over your share volumes, so that your department is in full control. File Server hosting is a high performance yet economical solution based on lower cost storage, but still retains the performance that you would expect from an enterprise service. File Server hosting also includes NSAM based backups for DR purposes. If customers wish they may customize their NSAM backup policies beyond the basic DR service at normal NSAM rates. Please see pricing below.
Virtual Machine Hosting allows allows your UF organization to lease virtual machine resources from within our existing infrastructure to run your own dedicated system images. This will allow your project to succeed without the worry of purchasing and maintaining hardware resources. Your virtual server will live in our virtualized server environment that includes SAN-backed failover within our hardware cluster to prevent downtime due to hardware failure or maintenance. Additional higher cost high performance storage is available as needed. Please see the tables further down the page.
Please see the Open Systems support webpage for the appropriate links to submit requests and report problems.
